The Cross Keys Hotel has embarked on an exciting 3 year programme of refurbishment. The programme will see significant investment being made into the repair of the hotel's exterior and the refurbishment of its interior including reception, the lounge, bar, dining areas and the update of bedrooms.
In 2014, a new guest lift was installed at the hotel. Later in the year, the classical roof of the hotel, which is an iconic feature of the Square in Kelso, was repaired and redecorated.
The Spring of last year (2015) was the launch of an ambitious and far-reaching refurbishment. In association with a group of experienced local trades-people, and under the careful guidance of Natalie of Tweed House Interiors, we have completed the first phase of the public areas on the ground floor. The restaurant, bar and TV lounge have been transformed with new carpeting throughout, redecoration of interiors and an extensive upgrading of fabrics and furnishings.
Early Summer this year (2016) will mark the start of phase two of the public areas refurbishment programme. The Oak Room will be redecorated and re-carpeted. A dance-floor will form part of the re-vamped bistro.
Later in the year we will begin re-development of the hotel’s bedroom-stock. A bespoke Bridal suite will be developed, and a programme will be commenced to redecorate all bedrooms and bathrooms at the hotel.
The continued investment in the Cross Keys will ensure that the hotel remains at the fore-front of the hospitality offering in the Borders.
